You should structure your question so that experts would be able to see the question involved clearly. For example, I would post your query like this:
- How to capture work hours and cost with Notification only without using Order?
- How to make only relevant Catalog codes appear in Notifications?
Firstly you should know that these are very fundamental questions in PM module. And SCN is not for these levels. However, the answer your first query can be
- Cost can not be captured through Notifications. You can have some work-arounds to do the same using Measuring points or Catalogs and codes etc and then develop a cost report, but that is not like ER, means it these cost figure will not hit the FICO module. About work hours: If the Work center is single then Work hours can be captured. If it is a Breakdown Notification (M2), you get this field Duration field in IW28 standard report. If you want to capture Work hours for Preventive Notification (M3), then you need to do a small development through your ABAPer.
- Then about second query. The one word answer is Catalog Profile. You prepare a Catalog Profile and assign it to the Equipment (in IE02) on which your Notification is being made. Also look at this: F4 help filter in Catalogs Codes tabs of Notification
I repeat,
To post a query in SCN, you should be having some working knowledge in SAP PM objects and then during hurdles you should post a specific query related to you obstacle. There are lot of things you can go through on these points those can be very easily reached through Google search. Use string like 'SAP PM Catalogs and codes' or ' SAP PM Catalog profile' and see what all you get.
