Marc, thanks for the pointer on checking .NET versions on a computer. So it is now clear to me that having .NET 4.0 or above on a machine doesn't mean that it also has .NET 3.5 SP1.
But I did not understand your statement
As for the EPM add-in. If you use the 64-bit version (a.k.a. big volume version), you only need the .NET 4.0 (there is no need for 3.5)
For the 32-bit version (a.k.a. standard version) you need .NET 3.5
Are you saying that there is a 64 bit EPM add-in and a 32 bit EPM add-in? I am only aware of EPM add-in with .NET framework 4.0 and EPM add-in with .NET framework 3.5. The one highlighted below is what we have downloaded from SAP service marketplace - is it a 64 bit one or 32 bit one?
Also, as mentioned in my original post, as per section 3.2 of the installation guide (which is related to EPM add-in with .NET framework 4.0), Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1 is required for EPM Add-in standard version on a Microsoft .NET framework 4.0.
Our user base:
Excel 2010 32-bit (~40%), Excel 2013 32-bit (~30%), Excel 2010 64-bit (~15%) and Excel 2013 64-bit (~15%)
We use BPC on SAP NetWeaver with Standard Model
To be honest, all I want to know is this
- Did we download the correct EPM SP22 add-in file from SAP service marketplace for our user base?
- If not, can we still use the downloaded file if we install .NET 3.5 SP1 on our users' computer and then install the downloaded file? If that doesn't work then can you please tell me the correct file name from the service market place?
